Radio Ngati Porou is an Iwi radio station determined to take control of its own destiny by achieving self-sufficiency and contributing towards the retention of Ngati Porou's unique culture and language through the use of multi media.
In October Radio Ngati Porou (RNP) established the Ngati Porou Multi Media Unit to deliver quality communications and media services. This integrated Iwi-based service is being set up in several stages to provide professional multi media services that are accessible to all NP organisations and businesses, as well as other organisations nationally. Services currently available include the production of publications and other printed material, advertising, music CDs and website hosting.

The next stage is to extend our multi media services to include the production of video and film footage, music DVDs and website upgrades. Video and film footage capabilties will include the production of Ngati Porou historical documentaries, breaking news items and hui requested by individuals or groups. Promoting Ngati Porou's talented entertainers, song writers and musicians will be a focal point of our music DVD production.
The NP Multi Media Unit also intends to contribute significantly towards the archiving and preservation of Ngati Porou reo, tikanga, kawa, history, culture and customs. Radio Ngati Porou's vast audio archives are currently being catalogued and transferred to CD. The audio tapes recorded in Maori will also be translated into English.
